THE BUFFALO BILL CHARACTER MUG

This ceramic character mug was not carried by Buffalo Bill.

Its importance lies elsewhere.

Marked "Ron Molds 1973," it arrived during the earliest construction of the Rock persona — the same year and given name carried by the man who would later become Rock.

An ordinary costume prop became a quiet bridge between two identities.

Ron was not discarded. He was reforged.

The mug was given to Rock by a costume maker during an attempted collaboration in the earliest days of developing his public character. It arrived together with the octopus tentacle charm and became one of the first physical objects associated with Rock's costume.

Although the planned collaboration ended before the costume work was completed, the mug remained.

Years later, the inscription on its underside — "Ron Molds 1973" — gave the object deeper meaning. Ronald was Rock's birth name, and 1973 was his birth year.

The coincidence transformed the mug from a costume accessory into a Foundational Artifact representing chosen identity, continuity, and personal reinvention.
